This is the best animal hospital we've brought our cats too. Friendly, compassionate and knowledgeable staff and Vets. My cats have always been treated with gentle love and all procedures were fully explained. Costs are reasonable for their services 24/7. Overall, we will continue to bring our pets here.

PEOPLE BEWARE!!! shocked this place has three stars (should have less than half a star). If i could give a no star review i would. My poor dog sliced her leg on glass . We brought her here for care after hours and got charged 1000 dollars for a pain shot and stitches (fair ill accept) then sent us home with antibiotics and instructions to bring her for bandaging every few days (which we followed) two weeks pass and they decided to remove the stitches on 03-18-2026. Not even a full 24 hours later, the deep cut re opened 03-19-2026. We call frustrated because they made the choice (they’re the professionals) to remove the stitches and the cut looked like it never even got treatment. We felt the cut was too big to remove stitches right away after two weeks but they removed them and we listened to their guidance. Upon brining her back they made it seem like it was our dog’s fault that it re opened because “the cut looked different” all a sudden and that she might have “bitten” her self or gnawed at her own leg insisting that my dog would cause self harm (foolish). Then they took her back and refused to add stitches again for free because they felt it was not needed (really??) even two weeks of their stitches wasn’t enough !. They clearly have a complex here and refuse to accept their mistakes.They proceeded to send my dog home with some homeopathic bandaging and said that if she returned with a dirty/wet bandage that they would proceed to charge us AGAIN. Not to mention no more antibiotics. Therefore I’m leaving this review on this day 03-19-2026 (24 hours after stitch removal ) documenting the horrible customer service we received and what basically was finger pointing that our dog would self harm and re open the wound even after wearing a full sized cone and constant supervision. The fact that they don’t want her bandage to get dirty or wet is insane and kinda impossible unless you cover it with a plastic bag of some sort( they told us not to do that).I’ll add a pic of the bandage (which covers the actual paw as well) if someone can please tell me how to NOT have a dog dirty this bandage PLEASE let me know because it is damn near impossible. That’s like me giving you a brand new pair of shoes and saying “after 5 days if they’re dirty, damaged or wet then I’ll proceed to charge you for changing them and cleaning them”. Make that make sense! I’m thankful that they’re available 24/7 etc to treat animals that need care (questionable) but this is ridiculous. They lack basic customer service skills, compassion and empathy. Shocking how places like this with SO many negative reviews don’t get the attention they need( not yet..soon) Save your records, get names and go to the boards people. Document everything. Some people cannot be in healthcare let alone in animal healthcare

I do NOT recommend Animal AM Emergency in Pasadena. I brought my dog in thinking she had a vaginal prolapse. I waited over an hour, and the doctor examined her for maybe 2 minutes before giving a diagnosis. A nurse then handed me a $2,500–$3,500 estimate with no explanation. When I said we are a low-income family, I was simply told to look for other clinics no compassion, no options. We returned the next morning ready to proceed, but the experience got worse. The receptionist was cold and immediately said they would put my dog under anesthesia and that “she can make it or not.” No empathy at all. We were asked to sign CPR forms and told about extra charges in a very blunt way. Most concerning: the diagnosis was WRONG. My dog does NOT have a vaginal prolapse. The doctor barely examined her, and it showed. At that point, I did not feel safe leaving my dog there and decided to leave. Thankfully, we went to Bewell Animal Hospital, where they were kind, thorough, and explained everything clearly. Please think twice before bringing your pet here, especially in an emergency when you’re vulnerable and need clear communication and compassion. One star only because of the discounted consultation.

We are so fortunate this hospital is nearby and always available. Our dog was having terrible seizures and the office staff rushed out with a gurney to role her in. In her condition we were not surprised they rushed her straight in order to subdue her. She wasn’t in any condition to continue on, but the doctor was so kind and we appreciate his honesty with her condition and the treatment options. Thank you so much Animal AM. We appreciate you.

One now fully understands why the ratings of this establishment are deservedly low. Long story short, my dog was recovering on a filthy floor after MAJOR surgery. His kidneys are acutely failing. Not to mention the night staff are inexcusably unprofessional and rude. Tanya proceeds to argue w/ me over the telephone surrounding the substandard conditions. The evening staff are extremely insensitive and off-putting. All the while, my poor dog lying on the floor passing away literally in filth (probably had sepsis as well). As I type this review, Tanya phoned my home requesting additional payment (an exhorbitant amount) for pain medication. One can't make this up, no one would believe it.
