I want to start by saying that everyone at the salon was very kind. However, this was unfortunately the worst hair experience of my life. I came into the salon with my hair already styled so they could clearly see the curl pattern I normally wear and love. I get perms every 3–4 months and consistently aim for 3A–3B curls. My main goal was to add more curl to the back of my head and at the roots, which have always been looser than the rest of my hair. I showed multiple inspiration photos and explained exactly what I wanted. I was visiting Hawaii from Florida on vacation and chose this salon based on its excellent reviews, so I was very excited and trusting going in. I was told that to avoid damage, we would need to use larger rods than what I normally get. I expressed concern and asked multiple times if this would still give me 3A–3B curls. I was reassured that it would. I had never been told before that smaller rods couldn’t be used due to damage risk, but I trusted the professional recommendation. Immediately after the service, I could tell something was wrong. My curls dropped almost instantly. I understand that perms naturally relax after about a week, but this was different—my hair went from defined curls to loose waves, with even flatter roots than before. I was absolutely heartbroken, especially after spending over $500 plus tip. I called the salon very upset, and they were kind and asked me to come back in so they could fix it. I rearranged my vacation plans to return. When I came back, even my stylist acknowledged how much my curls had dropped. Before re-perming, I repeatedly asked if doing another perm would damage my hair or cause fallout. I was reassured multiple times that it would not, that a different solution would be used, and that any damage would be minimal. This time, the rods I originally requested were used, and the curl pattern itself was finally correct—but the damage was already done. Despite being told the damage was only “1–2 out of 10,” my hair now feels extremely gummy, overly frizzy, and unable to hold curls. Only the sections of my hair that were still somewhat healthy retained the proper curl pattern. The rest feels compromised. I fully understand that perming carries risks. However, I specifically asked for certain rods from the beginning and was advised against them. Had my original request been honored, I truly believe I would not be in this situation. While the staff was kind and tried to help, the end result left me devastated. I left crying multiple times and now have significantly damaged hair while still on vacation. This experience was emotionally distressing and honestly just left me so sad

I was very disappointed with my experience. I booked with Alan because previous reviews advertise extensive consultations and expertise, and I have fine (not thinning) hair that requires a thoughtful approach. From walking in to walking out the door, the appointment lasted about 30 minutes, despite being booked for an hour. The consultation was extremely brief (under a minute), and there was no clear discussion of length or layering before cutting began. I was not told how much length would be removed until he began cutting and I asked. I’ve been told previously that layers tend to thin out already thin hair, but I trusted his expertise. The result left my ends heavily thinned out, stringy, and ratty. I took these photos 20 minutes after leaving the salon. The experience also felt like one big pushy sales pitch for the CL serum, including repeated comments suggesting my hair was thinning (it is not — it has always been fine in texture). There was no other advice on how to care for or style my hair other than use the serum. At $260, I expected a much more thorough consultation, clearer communication, and a more elevated overall experience. Unfortunately, the service felt rushed and impersonal, and I will now need to have the cut corrected elsewhere.

Dezi Gomez did a fantastic job. I have been doing bleach scalps for years and my hair finally had enough. Dezi went in and added a gloss and helped me leave the salon feeling way better about my hair. Dezi did a wonderful job adding a darker gloss to my roots which helped the harsh line from the bleach scalps blend absolutely perfectly and now it looks like I got highlights on my natural hair! As well an olaplex treatment was done and it helped leave my hair feeling very smooth again. Dezi is great, definitely recommend her if you have blonde hair!

I recently visited Salon Blanc while on Oahu and, unfortunately, left feeling disappointed with my experience. I had called ahead to ask about getting a blowout with a simple braid in the front to keep my hair out of my face for hiking. I was told to come in and consult with the stylist, which I appreciated. However, upon arrival, the stylist seemed somewhat irritated from the beginning, and I felt more like an inconvenience than a welcomed client. I was informed that adding a small braid would be an additional $60, which I decided to decline. I proceeded with just the blowout, but the overall service felt rushed—especially the wash, which stood out to me given my past experiences with blowouts. When the blow dry was finished, it seemed like the service was complete, without any hot tool styling to polish the look. In my experience, that final step is typically included, so I was surprised. I ended up going home to finish styling my hair myself. For a $100 service, the experience felt very quick and did not meet my expectations. I rarely leave reviews unless I’ve had a great experience, but I left feeling disappointed and somewhat unwelcome. I hope this was just an off day, as I would like to believe this isn’t the standard experience for other clients.

First, I'm so happy about the outcome of my appointment. But after I waited 2 days to wash my hair, I was so disappointed. I do follow all the instructions about not getting wet your hair, using sulfate free shampoo and conditioner, and i sleep on the couch just not to make my hair messy. I feel like I just threw away almost $400 for this. And for the email that I get and what I pay at the salon is different. I really do not recommend this place. It cost an arm and a leg. But only disappointment is what you get.
